How do I change my screen resolution to 1280x800?

I recently installed a new Windows XP Home Edition on my laptop. And the only resolutions it have are 800x600 and 1024x700. I tried the resolution 1024x700 but err... since my laptop is wide screen the resolution makes everything wide T__T...

Is there a way I can change my resolution to 1280x800 even though it is not in my display setting? do I have to download anything?..How do I change my screen resolution to 1280x800?

You need to install the proper video driver to enable the custom resolutions available for your laptop.

Go to Compaq's website and go to support and downloads. http://www.compaq.com it's the same as HP's website.
First i'm assuming your monitor can support this resolution. Go to ATi's website and download the latest driver for your video card.
