If you're referring to the name you see in the IM Box....
1). Log into Yahoo! Messenger.
2). Click on Messenger.
3). Click on My Contact Details.

Right now, I can only log into guest account on this computer (Dell Dimension B110, desktop)
Nobody knows the administrator password. When I log into guest account, the internet doesn't work, it's like it's disabled.

I am royally screwed here
I accidentally set my DMC4 screen refresh rate to the highest setting, although I forgot the exact rate, i know that I set it to the highest because I pressed left on the selection, so it should be the one before 69 hertz, which is the highest
now here's my problem, whenever I play DMC4, my monitor just says ';Mode not supported'; but I know that the game is still running, because I can here the sounds, and whenever I press buttons I still hear the sound effects of the buttons..
can someone guide me in the dark in here, I need someone to tell me the exact buttons to push(following the game's interface) to return my refresh rate back to 60 hertz.

I was playing Vanguard Saga of heroes when a Friend on steam Messaged me. it minimizes vanguard to open the message.Then i open up Vanguard again but when it tries to open Vanguard, it also tries to open the message. If you can not increase the resolution even outside of VSoH, your graphics driver may have been messed up. Try reinstalling or updating graphics driver. BUT before you do that, try booting to SAFE mode then scan for virus. Something might have slipped through when you got the Message.

Just installed ubuntu 8.10 (i think). The resolution was horrible it flickered and was green so i tried to change the resolution (to a higher one, stupidly) and my monitor says ';out of scan range'; so i hit esc like 50 times but it never changed back. Now any time i start up its in the same ';out of scan range'; resolution.
I've tried logging in to the root console and trying ';xrandr -s 800x600'; it just says ';cant open display'; I also tried fix X config settings from the recovery menu, that didnt do anything.
How can i reset the resolution for the user to something like 800x600 so i can at least see to fix stuff in the gui. Or how can I just delete the file that has the profile info (resolution) so it will default to something ?

Have you done an initial download? The drivers for ATI and Nvidia are not included on the CD (legal stuff). Do not go into Synaptic Package Manager just yet. The lines are vertical, extremely fine/light, and most noticeable on light colored backgrounds, such as the white on yahoo. My screen resolution, by default, was 800x600 pixels. Today I pressed ctrl+alt+down and, instead of making my screen go upside-down, it just made everything really big. Yes, this is an extra credit project. I need to change the name that comes up on the computer when it boots up to my name as opposed to the Dell or whatever. I figured out how to change the computer name but that doesn't change the name in the boot process. I'm not real comfortable in going in and changing the bios but if I have to I will. I suggest uninstalling the driver. Then reinstall the driver using EnvyNG.
To install EnvyNG for Kubuntu open a Terminal and submit the following command :
sudo apt-get install envyng-qt
Once installed run the software to install your graphics driver and restart when installation is complete.
That should fix it .

Save all your personal pictures or pictures you like in a folder called my pictures it is under my documents, then right click on the screen go to property then screen saver then go down to my pictures slide show click on it then click apply.

How I change screen resolution in Vista?
Help! I've done something stupid and now the monitor on my laptop is really low-res. I'm running Vista on an Acer Aspire. Just before it happened, I was using Alt-Gr and the arrow keys, so I think it's to do with that. I was holding down some combination (I think it was Alt-Gr and the down arrow), and the screen went black and then when it came back to life it was at this really low resolution.
When I go to control panel, it won't let me change the settings.

How do i keep desktop icons from changing after changing screen resolution?
I usually have 1024x768, and my wife lkes to enlarge her solitare games ect. by changing to 800x600.the icons are compacted to fit screen, thats fine. you may have to reinstall your graphics card...
where u can reinstall it is in Control panel/system/hardware/device manager. from there u should be able to find your graphics card and reinstall it....
i am using windows xp not vista, so im not sure if thats where device manager will be found...
and im not positive that this will fix it...
if you dont feel comfortable doin this than by all means dont, but i have had a similar problem before....
Oh and after u uninstall the graphics card, restart your computer, and it will detect the graphics card and reinstall it...if my memory is correct...

How do I implement screen saver?
I have Windows Vista Home Premium on a Dell notebook computer? If I don't use my computer, it won't go into a screen saver mode. I tried going to Control Panel, from there to Personalization, and then to Change Screen Saver. I entered ';1'; minute and clicked ok but still nothing happens.How do I implement screen saver?

but you should check your computer what model it is. if it is a hp or dell just google your computer model ex: optiplex 2350 or something like that and open up the link that takes you to a support website for your computer
in there go to downloads and go to display driver or display or whatever it is. there should be an auto-extract or an easy way to download a driver
when its done it either takes care of it on its own once you run it or you;re gunna have to extract it to a folder and right click your computer go to properties, hardware, device manager, display adapters and right click on the one that should have a yellow sign on it

What is your screen resolution right now and what was it before? Is your monitor Plug and Play? It is often a common problem with TFT monitors. They suddenly change their PnP properties and stick to a lower resolution.
A common solution is to DISCONNECT the CPU along with the monitor from all sources of power and wait for 5 minutes.
If it helps, good, otherwise you may need to call service.

How to change screen size?
My laptop screen picture does not fill the whole screen like it used to, i tried changing the screen resolution but it only allows the image to get smaller and not bigger. Anyway other way to increase the screen size?How to change screen size?
If it has been fairly recently that your computer made these unwanted changes to the screen size, you can try to do a System Restore to an Earlier Date to see if that will help at all. Go to Start Menu, then Control Panel, then to System Restore and then find an earlier date to restart your computer to. You won't lose any stored data, but the computer should just restore the settings for that date, so that if your screen was whole screen, it will restore itself.
You can also try to click and drag the frame of the application you are trying to do. Click on the top corner of the frame. You will see a diagonal arrow. Move it to the top edge of the screen. Then, once in place, click on Window on your toolbar and then select the Remember Size and Position option and this will also get your computer to change. (This is probably the easier of the two options I have listed here).

I honestly can't 100% understand your question, so I'm going to answer it based on what I *Think* your question is.
There are two possible things you could be asking, and I will answer them both to help you out. :)
1) The text DPI setting could be too high (Meaning that the size of the screen is ok, but the text could be huge!

Let's try number one first, because I think that's what's wrong.

1. Minimize all windows so that you can see your background.

Under ';Resolution:'; drag the tick all the way to the right, and press ';OK'; If that solves your problem, press ';OK'; again on the window that asks you to verify that you are ok with the settings you changed. (Note: Your only going to have 15 seconds, so decide if you like it or just press ok, If you don't like it, just repeat everything and slide the tick back one notch everytime until you find a resolution that you like)
If that didn't fix your problem, lets assume its the DPI settings.
---To fix DPI settings (In Vista)
1. Minimize all windows so that you can see your background.
2. Right click any open desktop space and press, personalize.
3. Under the ';Tasks'; pane on the left side of the window, press ';Adjust Font Size (DPI)';

For windows xp right click on the desktop, click graphic options, rotation and then choose the degree of rotation you want(90, 180 etc.). you can also press ctrl + alt + arrow key to change the display in your desired direction.

Now there will probably be a row of F1-F12 buttons at the top of the keyboard. look for the ones with a sun or light on it. one should have a + and the other a - hold the Fn key and then tap the + brightness key until you reach the desired brightness.
