How do i change screen name to im someone?

If you're referring to the name you see in the IM Box....

1). Log into Yahoo! Messenger.

2). Click on Messenger.

3). Click on My Contact Details.

~%26gt;If you want to have your First Name only, delete your Last name.

~%26gt;If you want to use the Nickname field, delete your First and Last name and enter the name you would like to see in the IM box in the Nickname field.

~%26gt;If you want only your Account ID to show, leave all fields blank.

4). Always click Apply and OK when making any changes.



If you're referring to having additional names on one account....

You can add up to 6 additional names (called alias names) on one account, giving you 7 chat names.



To add alias names to a current Yahoo! ID, on Yahoo! Messenger from the Messenger menu, click on My Profiles. click on Create/Edit My Profiles. Below your Yahoo ID will be the Create New Public Profile button. Follow the prompts (similar to when you made your original Yahoo! ID).How do i change screen name to im someone?

what I meant was creat a brand new screen name and use that to tell if you have been blocked or not.

That way you will have two diffrent screennames, just rememeber them okay?

if you're after quick fix..

login to Yahoo! Messenger

click on Messenger

select My Contact Details

at the top is Name:

there are 3 fields that you need to complete to stop Yahoo! Messenger accessing the default Details stored in your Yahoo! Account information, these are...

First (Name)

Last (Name)

Nickname



put your ID in your First and Last Name fields in your My Contact Details

eg in mine i have

first name: bourbon

last name: bee

ID: bourbon bee



take a little care if you remove the first and last name fields from you My Contact details, we've found that doing so can cause the information to be extracted from your Account Information.

e.g if under My Contact Details if you fill in first name but don't fill in your last, you may find your last name is extracted from your Account details by default in most cases



e.g

Account details

first name: Jack

last name: Jones



My Contact details

first name: JJ

last name: [not filled out]



your requests may go out with your yahoo ID but your contact details may read as JJ (from your My Contact Details) Jones (from your Account Details)

the only sure fire way to kill it off completely is too edit your account information (the form you filled out when you signed up for your yahoo id)

Once there...

1.Ignore the first instance of your Names, scroll down the page until you see Address / Contact Information, click Edit...

2. now at the top of the page should be Your Name, edit both fields

3. hit Finished, if prompted, then confirm your password, you will be redirected back to your Yahoo! Account Information page where you can see the changes, if you're happy with the results, click Finish again, then exit out of your browser and log back into Yahoo! Messenger.
